Marine radio operators certificate of proficiency (MROCP)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides the learner with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate marine radiotelephone equipment in the designated marine VHF and HF radio frequencies.
COURSE DURATION:
Option 1.
2 day course covering the basics of VHF, 27mHz, & HF radio usage & the mandatory requirements of the Australian Communications Authority.
Option 2. (to be completed within 12 months of enrolment)
Self paced learning pack – inc. Study Aids & handbook, with the option of using CD-Rom at STT. Students selecting this option will enroll for assessment only where the written examination is completed under supervision.
PRE-REQUISITES:
It is important that you have read & understood the handbook before attending either course option & examination.
OUTCOME:
Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency issued by the Office Maritime Communications,
Statement of Attainment for the unit TDMME501A Transmit & Receive Information by Marine Radio or Telephone, from the Maritime Training Package, issued by Seafood Training Tasmania
